The loyalists run a drift defense. We are faster, so we can use our feet to attack wide and round the corner. We can also use lines back inside to exploit the drift. We need to change direction quickly with our Boomerang call and cause their bigger, slower backfielders to chase us across field. We should beat them to the corner most times. Once their wings begin to join the line to add an extra defensive player, we can start to use small kicks over top. We must communicate these kicks to everyone so that we have a proper chase and defensive formation if we do not recover. We can also test their wingers with some high balls. Their wings look green and unskilled, but are very fast and athletic. If we can place a few nice high balls, it will likely end up in a knock on. Our forward pods should have Laura, Shea, Kiley, and Emily as the primary runners. Everyone else is there for cleanup duties to secure ball. We should have a more athletic/fast pack, so quick phases back and forth with the boomerang call could tire out their pack quickly and cause their 10/12 to suck in to defend. Defensively, we need to take space quickly. Their backs are much stronger and athletic. If we give them space and let them get up to speed, double tackles will become very difficult. Hannah especially needs to pressure their 10 with the openside flanker and our 9 supporting on her inside. Selina/Kelsey need to make a point to keep their fast wingers on their inside, and force them back towards help. If they get outside of us, it will likely be a try.
